Copper Dragons are masters of stealth, slipping silently and swiftly through the forests and jungles where they live. Often hunting in groups, their prey rarely know they are being stalked until the dragon’s at their throat. In the air they are agile and skilled. Copper Dragons prize family groups, spending large amounts of time teaching their young skills. So great is their love of life and family that they will sometimes adopt orphaned dragons of other breeds to raise.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Maktaf has always believed in helping any orphan that crosses his path, even one not fortunate enough to have been born a dragon. When he found a young hairless ape that had lost its parents, he immediately took charge of it. The creature was frequently loud, messy, and otherwise unpleasant to be around, but Maktaf dutifully raised it as though it were his own child. He trained it how to hunt by stealth (especially vital, as the poor thing had no claws or teeth to speak of), taught it honor, justice, and other vital qualities, and even showed it how to overcome the unfortunate handicap of being wingless. Despite all of the care and attention he lavished on the little beast, it still abandoned him when grown to join its own kind without so much as a backwards glance. Maktaf still sometimes misses the ridiculous creature, though he'll never admit it.
