This breed of dragon was thought to exist only in legend. Although their name varies between cultures, they are often referred to as “Guardians of Nature.” They are able to channel the forces of fire, ice and lightning, which allows them to wield tremendous power. Seen very rarely, it is thought that they only become active when something is threatening the territory they have chosen to guard. In order to protect their chosen home, these dragons are incredibly adaptable; they have been seen everywhere from remote mountain ranges, to ancient forests, to the darkest depths of the ocean.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Grandmeister: the oldest and wisest of the dragons in Ceri's cave is a well loved and respected dragon, although almost no one knows of this dragons past. It is in fact rumored that she was once into black magic and because of this was enchanted back into an egg and cursed to be reborn to a new, and good, pure master of dragon's. Even though the times at which she was physically born and hatched are younger than others, the other dragons in Ceri's cave have been told that the Grandmeister was held within the stomach of her mother for a very long time before being laid, and as such, technically makes her older; however the clan elders are aware of the truth; she really was cursed into being reborn, not because she was bad or evil but because an evil breed of dragon never before heard of hated her for her wisdom. This is why she is the Grandmeister. Her summoners, the magma, ice and thunder dragons are also revered for bringing her to the cave.
