Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hiccup's Energy is an extremely energetic, easily excited and gullible young Dragon who never ceases to dash about uncontrollably. When she tries to calm down, Energy simply gets more jittery and will bounce about. She is often fooled by the older Dragons who get hours of entertainment out of teasing her. However, she doesn't mind. She sees it all as one big fun game.
