Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Though supposedly a rather scrawny and sickly hatchling, Protector Galsreim became a famous protector when fully grown. Though perhaps not the equal of, say, Kalazor, he certainly had better publicity. He was portrayed as the embodiment of justice, fighting off evil vampires, zombies, and the occasional desipis so that the residents of Galsreim could sleep more soundly at night. When a vampire attack left him missing, presumed dead, the stories that sprang up shortly thereafter (and for decades to come) about him cast him as a legendary figure on par with (if not superior to) even a guardian of nature. When Protector Galsreim reappeared centuries later, having been sent into the future by a spell, new villains were the least of his trouble. Even fighting a desipis couldn't compare to facing his greatly exaggerated reputation and a world greatly different from what he had known. Being generally kind, honorable, and adaptable, though, he was soon able to find a place in a changed world.
