Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Because she was raised in her mother's sticky den surrounded by sugary treats, Zehuva has grown to hate anything that tastes even a little sweet. She and her mother never got along, and the young dragoness took the first opportunity she could to escape and live on her own. She quickly found that even the fresh mountain springs were too sweet for her taste, so she moved to a quiet den beside a murky jungle pond. There she discovered the local spice expert, Guava the Bright Breasted Wyvern. Together, Zehuva and Guava created an extremely bitter drink from the pits of a bright red fruit, and it is now popular among the clan for its ability to provide any dragon with energy all day. It's now a huge part of Zehuva's diet, and because of that she is almost always filled with energy, only to crash a few days later.
