White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

After Temas left (though only temporarily) to become chief healer at another traveling weyr, Lyeui took her place. Abrupt, confrontational, and in general hard to get along with, she wasn't particularly liked by anyone except Xacai. To her credit, Lyeui could and did make an effort to change, as could be seen in her evolving relationship with Dasoong. She initially looked down on the nearly emotionless gold tinsel, viewing him as little better than a machine, but came to see him as deserving of respect. Lyeui, despite her faults, was quite a skilled healer, mixing traditional and new recipes, and was willing on more than one occasion to sacrifice herself to save a patient.
