Witchlight Dragons are silent, secretive beasts that haunt the most remote corners of the wilderness. They beguile their unsuspecting prey into peril by assaulting their perceptions of reality and stoking the fires of paranoia with masterfully-conjured illusions. Unwary travelers have been led astray by the soft, inviting glow of their eyes amidst a sea of encroaching darkness, never to be seen again. Those that survive a Witchlight Dragon’s psychic onslaughts do not escape unchanged: some believe that the apparitions these dragons summon to tempt or torment their victims awaken them to hidden truths about themselves.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Sometime within the last decade, some human found out that Al-Romeo Forest has an inhabitant who creates illusions and traps people. He believes the inhabitant is in fact a witch, with powerful spells and an evil cackle who must be eliminated. This is not good for Ottey because he wanted to remain unknown, and he's annoyed that his singing would be called a cackle. Fortunately, it seems nobody believes this human, whose name is Gene, or maybe Jean. Even more fortunately, Gene is determined to prove there's a witch in Al-Romeo but is very impatient. Ottey discovered through observation that Gene has many half-baked (or quarter-baked, or sixth-baked, or so raw it's alive) schemes for capturing the witch, and he favors doing things as quickly as possible. Unsurprisingly, none have worked, and the humans dismiss Gene as a liar or lunatic. Ottey's considering just going back to usual business and not worrying about Gene, at least until he learns that his get-witch-quick schemes never work.
