Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a pink cloud that follows it everywhere. You seem to be having more difficulty concentrating since it arrived.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

With the dreams of each dragon in the cave, comes Laura the Dream Weaver. She visits certain dragons in their sleep and gently awakens them with her singing. The consciousness of the dragons is very slight, so in the morning they believe this small singing dragon was simply a dream. Strangely enough, Laura the Dream Weaver never appears to the other dragons during the day. The answer to this mystery is she hides in the clouds.
