Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Over the centuries, the storms that sweep her world are becoming more and more violent. Many are beginning to fear that the end of their world is coming due to the fierce nature of these massive tempests. To stabilize the weather and prevent disaster, several Storm Dragons formed what is known as the Great Weather Manipulation Project (GWMP). Ingrid is one of the first dragons to grow up in GWMP. As a hatchling, she learned how and why the Projects work was important. As a young adult, Ingrid joined GWMP as a full-time member. When on an ambassadorial mission to another Cave, Ingrid met an obnoxious male dragon about her age who determined it was his mission in life to woo Ingrid. Frustrated with his actions, Ingrid told him shew as too busy with GWMP to make time for him. To her surprise, the male dragon joined GWMP. Ingrid watched, certain that he would give up eventually. When that didn't happen, Ingrid found herself falling in love with the male dragon.
