Spirit Ward Dragons are a special breed that ward off evil spirits—at least, that’s what the legends say. During nighttime festivals, people love to see these dragons, because they believe that the dragons guard against evil spirits. The dragons are dark-colored, but glow with a flame-colored internal light that has an intensity that they control.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Jack Morrison was raised in a relatively rural area—he was a rambunctious child who left his family to fight against criminal dragons in Valkemare, and never returned. Recognized for his prowess in fighting, he soon became friends with the Xenowyrm Ana Amari and the long-lost dragon Gabriel Reyes, where they conquered territory and fought as one.

There was soon a massive border dispute between Jack and Gabriel which led to the disappearance of all three dragons—questions are constantly brought up asking where they went and whether they're alive or not.

Jack was never heard from again, until recently, when a vigilante sharing quite a few similarities to Jack appeared again, fighting the criminals that had crept in around his former territory and reclaiming land as a wraith called Soldier: 76.

Ana's daughter, Fareeha Amari, believes that this dragon has to be Jack—however, he's long been accepted as dead, and it's not like old soldiers can rise again.
