Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...

Now there are even more vines. Perhaps something is happening?

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

User Description

Rosewicket shares the name of her carer.

One stormy night, a lone figure was traveling back to her cave. She stumbled and, upon investigation, discovered a emerald green egg, cold and alone. Although she never wanted a vine dragon, for she knew of their violent tendencies, pity filled her heart and she scooped the egg up, running with it to the warmth and safety of her cave. Every day the egg was cared for, warmed and guarded by the dedicated carer, until one day she awoke to a sharp cracking sound. The egg hatched, and out crawled an adorable hatchling. The bond between the young dragon and her carer was unsurpassed, but the carer's heart was sad, for she knew she must abandon the dragon before adulthood, or risk injury to her other dragons. One day the dragon begged her carer to freeze her as a hatchling, for she knew what she would become if she matured. Moved by love, the carer agreed, and cast the spell. Crimson roses bloomed on the dragon as she jumped into her carer's arms.
