Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vidrio is the male half of the first pair of vampires inside the Horde, his eternal love being Cazar. He is assertive, rough, calm, and overpowering, and makes a perfect counterpart to Cazar. He has no family and does not know who turned him in the shell, but he is thankful to them when he's not angry. Vidrio, while he may be a quite intelligent young Vampire, has a short fuse that is only just barely tempered by Cazar's patience, and he has enough raw ambition to make up for three of his kind. After they grew up, Cazar and Vidrio immediately turned two eggs, and they are starting a vampiric family in the horde, much to some's displeasure. Vidrio is headstrong and hard to satisfy, but he does love his midnight jaunts, as any other Vampire would.
