Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Although 'Ross' is a Black Dragon and has had her fair share of battles and injuries, she is considerably less violent than most of her species in her clan. While still rather easily provoked into fighting, she rarely aims for little more injury to her opponents than a blow or two to their pride, whether it be by the sharpness of her claws or the quick-witted mind behind them. Some may assume that this is out of dislike for harming others, but most members of the Clan by now can confidently say it is a result of her extreme laziness. She simply cannot be bothered with long fights. With the exception of some of the older dragons disproving of this and wishing she'd help out around the Clan more often, she is a generally well-liked member and particularly popular with the more rebellious of hatchlings.
