Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a large, shield-like object at the end of its tail that it uses for protection.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Out of curiosity, the young hatchling stepped in the magical circle his or her caretaker was drawing as she finished her chant-and was immediately frozen in childhood forever, never to grow up.

No one is quite sure what gender this hatchling is, as Mord'reith was frozen before any one could determine it. However, what is known is that despite being stuck in the first phase of hatchlingdom, Mord'reith is psychologically an adult. He or she doesn't quite mind being stuck as a hatchling forever, and is quite content to lead the rest of the 'frozen clan', non frozen hatchlings, and sometimes even adult dragons of the clan on various adventures. He or she takes his or her responsibility as Leader of the Frozens seriously, carefully keeping an eye on his or her charges.
