Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don’t grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
Kahftanna likes the warm, snuggly feel of fabric around her. She devised a kind of coat for dragons to wear that has sleeves for their forelegs, chest fasteners for sections that extend around above and below the wings, and a long flowing back end. Whenever she is particularly pleased with a guest, she gifts them with one of her creations.
