As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Nightshade is, and forever will be, known to the outside world as a "Broken Mystery". Unlike most NG Drakes, Nightshade has a most awful temper on him and will attack viciously when provoked. The cause of this bad behavior is unknown. Now, when Nightshade isn't busy fighting other creatures for food and territory, he searches for a suitable mate. But if any being can truly accept him for what he is, and what he has become, no one knows for sure.
