Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Barely Coping is an Ice suffering from mental instability, barely able to cope with it and keep himself from doing horrible or peculiar things, hence his name. His mate, Light in the Darkness of Destruction, has been great assistance in keeping him sane in his cave, as she helps to provide food for themselves and keeps his behaviour in check. He often wonders why she dedicates her time to him, a dragon that should be laughing maniacally and wanting to murder others and other cliche insanity traits, rather than spending it with some more gentledragonly dragon that can show his love for her in a more eloquent way than shy nuzzling and paw-licking. Either way, he appreciates her presence and tries to show it as often as he can, thankful that she's helped him avoid the path of other Ice dragons, such as Vexen, Red Sky, or PSyCHoPaTHy.
