Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s kind of shaky on its feet and enjoys playing in puddles.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Vann is a dull creature he doesn't like to move unless he has to and is rarely ever seen. The only dragons he feels comfortable around is Vatten and Vand, his foster siblings. He doesn't really get along with other frozen hatchlings because of his vast knowledge of the world out of the clan. While most of them have been in the clan for their entire lives Vann wandered through different clans attempting to find one that would accept him and his adopted three siblings. As the world became more and more filled with dragon hunters hiding became more and more difficult. The world was becoming unfit even for a water dragon. The third sibling- Vanns love- accidentally stepped into a polluted lake and when she realized how terrible the water was it had paralyzed her body and she had drowned. Vann took it hard, he refuses to even talk to dragons now and one day hopes to find that his love is still alive.
