Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys gathering pebbles and other small rocks and putting them in a pile.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Ollus is a chubby, happy-go-lucky hatchling. This little guy spends his time gathering pebbles into piles. Once he gets a decent pile he'll curl up on top enthusiastically, proud of his accomplishment. He looks up to his big brother Gaiven, who has a mountainous pile of boulders that he rests upon. Ollus, with a goofy smile and a waging tale, swears he'll have a pile bigger than his brother's some day. Gaiven and Ollus's mother just smile and nod as the hatchling trots off to find more pebbles to stack.
