Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

True to her name, Smallheart is a coward and lives by the motto 'Cowards who run away get to eat another day.' She talks incredibly fast and no one except Littleflower and Yarnfluff can understand a word she says. Her eyes are also very big, sort of bulbous really, and blink very fast. Smallheart has rightfully earned herself the nickname 'Twitchy,' which is not very flattering but still better than her real name. Most dragons know and call her by it.
