Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has brightly colored fins on its back.
And look! It’s grown its wings! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don’t grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
This Dorsal Hatchling was named after the Welsh word for "fins". He's a happy, friendly Hatchling who loves to play. He's constantly starting games with other young Dragons, and making up new ones when when he gets bored. He's well behaved and pretty self-sufficient, but prefers to stay near the adults when he's out and about.
