Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

StarNet was the egg that Dharken had adopted after finding it in a pile where humans would leave their unwanted eggs. StarNet as a hatchling was very affectionate to his adopted mother but he still felt the need, deep inside of him, to find his true mother. StarNet believed that the nebula markings on his wings are the same nebula that his mother had watched during his birth but Dharken had dismissed this. The Gray Dragon taught her son the meaning of truth and the lies of petty play. She enlightened StarNet of the dangers of trusting others too much and the allowing them to take root in your head. StarNet understood all this but only so much. He found it hard to try not playing around with his fellow brothers, FallenBlaze and FlashSnap. StarNet is, by heart, a trusting dragon but is clouded with judgement because of Dharken's teachings. He obeys his mother's whims when she is around but when she isn't looking, the nebula dragon comes out to play.
