Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ornium is a hoarder, amongst other things. Anything sparkly, shiny, or simply interesting—he has to have it. Unless, of course, it's owned by another dragon—despite his hoarding tendencies, he will not take another dragon's property without permission.

Some jewels of his collection include: one of Luster's dropped scales before his curse, found on the path he took in the woods; a vial of bright powder, fittingly dropped by Brightpowder; and a sample of bloody fur, pulled from Pi'illo by a struggling hatchling.

It seems odd, even creepy to some dragons, for him to have so many relics of others, but to Ornium it is perfectly normal.
