Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Peyn lives in a world of perpetual rhythm. He constantly taps his feet, nods his head, or lashes his tail to an unknown beat only he can hear. He tries to live in accordance with his inner cadence, making sure all his footsteps or wingbeats go along with it. Everything he does is even and rhythmic. He often appears to be dancing when in doing normal, everyday things.
