Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It can fit right in your palm.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Zotz is the best friend of Candy Cane Sprinkles, (a.k.a. "Sprinkles") because of his size and age. They had hatched together, and are virtually the only two hatchlings that were smaller than an average egg.

Sprinkles, being a "Space Chicken", sometimes makes Zotz a tiny bit nervous, and a tiny bit more cautious around all chickens and chicks. She has told him many stories about invasions and lasers and ships and cannibalcarnivorous mortals, like Elisa, their scroll master. Oh, well. Having a friend that's 99.9 crazy isn't all bad, right
