It’s an undead baby dragon, produced by a failed magical spell. It probably would be cute if it weren’t partially decayed.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Zomb never wanted to become a zombie. But one day he was playing with the other hatchlings, when a human stabbed him to death and revived him. He was given the name Hellbonez, but prefers to be called Zomb because he thinks it sounds cuter. He tries to live a normal life and play with the other hatchlings, but they are disgusted by Zomb. Zomb is always lonely. He wants nothing more than to be a normal hatchling again.
