Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A few years ago Kanaye left the cave one night in order to watch a comedian. It was such a rare sight, Kanaye doing anything that did not involve the cave itself, that a large group of curious (and bored) dragons milled around the cave entrance waiting for her return. When she finally did, they all demanded to know what exactly a comedian was and, after she explained, to tell them some of his jokes. She was quite tipsy at this point and she started pointing at random dragons and saying things such as 'Where's the Van', "Rusty Wheelchair" and 'Banana Sandwich'! When she pointed at him and said 'Tasty Treats!' he knew immediately that was to be his name. He had been waiting months for one but none seemed to fit him quite right. This one did. Now he had a name and he loved it. Doubting she would remember when she woke up, and to be sure she wouldn't name him something else, newly named Tasty Treats cornered her and had her record his new name before she collapsed into bed.
