Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dragon Mouthoff's egg was lost during a storm and ended up at the entrance to the cave where Shade1193 found her and raised her. She loved to watch the eggs when she was a hatchling, and when she grew up it was obvious that she should be a nursemaid and incubate the eggs. When she met Aahz they didn't get along much at all. She would purposely flap her wings or slap her tail into the water to make it rough. He would splash water at her or her fires. But somehow, like many good love stories, they stopped fighting and became friends. Their friendship grew over time, and now they love each other dearly. They have had one child who was lost as a hatchling. It broke her heart. But they eventually found him as a wild dragon, and they accept that he doesn't wish to return home.
