Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Granite has had a secret desire from the time of her hatching—to fly. She watched the other hatchlings dash around and ride the wind, but she was too heavy. Movement was difficult for her. As she grew, the desire deepened to envy. She felt trapped, like a prisoner.
Then one day, a wizard came to Nadat's cave looking for a trustworthy dragon. Many others clamored for his attention, but after talking to all of those interested, he declared Granite to be the most reliable. He told her she was steady, not flighty like the others, and thus special in her own right.
To Granite's credit, she realized he was speaking from his heart, and accepted the compliment. While she still wishes that she could play in the air, she knows that she is the strong foundation that the cave relies on, and is content in that.
