Terrae Dragons are primarily herbivores who prefer to eat from the tops of trees. However, due to their massive size, they must rely on small, specialized scales to absorb and convert energy from the sun. Since they live in tightly-knit groups, this form of energy absorption helps preserve the forests in which these dragons reside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Marsh Fire is a terrae dragon. His appearance is much like that of other terrae dragons, except for the small, heart shaped spot on his underbelly. As a hatchling, adults would say that this marking meant he had a large heart. He was also told that because of his big heart he could see past any flaw... which explains his choice of mate. His mate is a hell fire wyvern with a quick temper and a tongue just as sharp as any one of her many fangs. However, Marsh Fire chose her anyway because of his inability to see wrong in any dragon. Despite his ignorance to her personality, Marsh Fire has been intelligent enough to recognize that she is the dominant one in their relationship, and therefore only mate when she is ready to.
