And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Lil' Rach always hangs around the adult Summer dragoness who shares her name. Because Rachel—the older—always goes on about how she's unique, Rachel—the younger—somehow has the impression that they are both the same dragoness. Rach believes herself to be some kind of temporal echo, or a memory given form and is very afraid that she will actually stop to exist if she ever gets separated from the "real" Rachel for too long.

Rach also believes that the Royal Blue dragoness Nate is actually a Summer dragoness and her sister. Since all three dragonesses are as crazy as cuckoos and share a similar kind of insanity, this is actually the least weird of her theories according to her clan mates.
