Waterhorse Dragons received their name due to their horse-like physique and endearing behavior. They are capable of surviving out of water, and when on land their skin secretes a gelatinous goo to retain moisture. However, their large paddle feet are better suited for swimming, and waterhorse dragons tend to move very awkwardly when on land. Waterhorses are very friendly dragons and enjoy playing with humans.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Behold, seeker of the dragon lore, Ixill of the Waterhorse dragons. This specimen is rather dexterous on her legs on firm ground—compared to her kindred, that is. People suspect that it is due to the fact that she is the descendant of another dragon type as well. She often comes out of her pond to actually graze when the weather is wet or foggy so that the air isn't that dry and unpleasant to her. Although she can be rather shy at times, she will come to humans she knows quite willingly to let them pat and ride her, provided they manage to stay on her somewhat slippery back.

For a long time she was the constant mate of another Waterhorse dragon named Maralniar until he was defeated by her new mate.
