Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

LJ leads a very sad life ever since he met DM. Before that he had lived under the impression that being a Royal Blue dragon (especially one with such a prestigious father as himself) was something to be proud of. That other dragons either looked up to or at least accepted such beautiful individuals as himself. Then he met DM, a Crimson dragoness who despises his breed. Which wouldn't be too bad if he hadn't fallen helplessly in love with her.

And the really frustrating thing is, she feels attracted to him too. But they can only ever meet in secret and even when they are alone she treats him little better than a slave. LJ has resigned himself to the fact that that's just the way his life is and will always be, but how will he protect his son from learning of his mother's contempt for both of them...
