Ridgewing Dragons live just below the snow level on the upper slopes of mountains. They are a friendly, playful breed and enjoy dancing in wind currents near their homes or plummeting down into valleys from great heights. Their wings, by far their most striking feature, grow in fin-like ridges along their backs. While their bodies lack markings to blend better with their surroundings, a ridgewing’s wings have bright markings in the colors of the flowers that grow in their mountain habitat. Occasionally different-colored individuals can be found, but they are rare because their striking coloring offers little protection.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Lodgings was never a "Halloween fun" type of dragon. The noise and hatchlings and litter are too much for her. Her parents cared little about the goings-on because it offered no "profit" (as Dad would say), and their attitude rubbed off on her when she was young. She stays in a different cave on the other side of the peak so nobody can bother her during the week-long celebration. One especially harrowing year, some prankster found Lodgings in her lodgings anyway and poured some goop on her face. Before she could even process what had just happened, she felt a squeeze and a twinge of claustrophobia. With a booming "PURF", her limbs felt as if they dropped off, and she became an egg. To make matters worse, she was bright purple instead of her original subdued tan. What an insult. For the next day, neighboring dragons could hear her bouncing and rolling in frustration. That was the worst Halloween ever, and Lodgings swore to find an even better hiding spot during the Halloweens to come.
