Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Quirin Jaefa is a great performing artist that has a great sense of enthusiasm for his craft. He support his peers and his clan as a whole and enjoys the work they do. His passion shows in his work. Quirin is privileged as he is born into a family with high status in his clan, handsome, and gifted with a great singing voice through his sweetling lineage. Because Quirin is a gold dragon he can only show himself in remote clan territories he knows are safe and hidden from outsiders, so as to avoid hunters. This made him somewhat naive because of his sheltered life, having only real knowledge on how to preform and not much else. Quirin has jealousy and admiration for dragons that are able to visit other places with no trouble, especially those who can travel outside of the clan territory. He feels that his clan's territory is a safe haven but also a prison. He is obsessed with clan members that are able to go as they please, and bugs them to indulge him with stories of their journeys.
