Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Star Doe started out with one coffee shop, but has since hired more and more dragons to run off-shoot coffee shops, selling the same brews and beans as in her main shop, along with a growing assortment of snacks that she has teleported out to all locations from a central bakery in her magical sylvan glen and branded kitsch from individual suppliers. Coffee drinkers everywhere from the South Sisters Islands to Nworset City and Eastwall Woods say that Star Doe's coffee is not very good quality, but nonetheless many places that serve her beans advertise it. Some suspect that she is on a quest for world domination, but really she just wants to keep people from falling asleep during the long winter nights and short, vivacious days that characterise her favourite time of year.
