Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aisling Brigid ("Vision of Brigid") is a very wise dragon, but humans rarely see her, because she knows her effect on them is dangerous. Her visions are truly powerful, rather than mere daydreams—often they foretell important aspects of the future, or communicate valuable knowledge, wisdom, or understanding, and on the occasions where those visions concern humans, she will summon a messenger dragon to bear the vision telepathically to the human in question. Often her visions are highly symbolic and require great thought and care to understand fully, but as the symbols are keyed to the mind of the appropriate recipient, he or she can often gain great insight from them. There is a fresh sweet spring next to her cave, which feeds a lovely river—while humans often picnic by it, only those who are deeply desirous of inspiration will drink from it or eat the plentiful salmon that inhabit it, as it has been imbued with her visionary power and has interesting magical effects.
