Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Loiosh Bell was raised by a human witch and is bound to that man as a familiar. When he first hatched he was convinced that the man was his mother and it took the witch a couple of years to get Loiosh to stop calling him 'Mama'. At first the witch was convinced this was due to the low intelligence of the drake but nowadays he suspects that in the later years his familiar did it mostly to tease him.

Because of the direct telepathic bond with his human Loiosh grew to become quite a clever drake. Much to the witch's regret Loiosh has even developed a basic grasp of sarcasm that he loves to use with 'his' human.

Just recently Loiosh and his 'mama' have met with a young girl traveling with a female ochredrake and Loiosh has no intend of letting his human screw up what he sees as the perfect opportunity.
