Caligene Dragons have long been considered omens of death—reinforced by the skeletal markings on their bodies. They exert a malignant force on the world around them, causing other living things to slowly waste away in their presence. Caligenes favor the seasons of summer and autumn, disappearing entirely from the forests they inhabit during winter and spring. These malevolent dragons are physically weak, though this is countered by their natural stealthiness and alarming speed—enabling them to close in on large targets quickly and silently to create ambushes from which prey cannot escape.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Every year, Cybercrime hosts the peninsula's only claw exhibit, wherein participants compare their fingers and claws. It started this as a way for her and her friends to show off their well-kept talons, and it soon became something much bigger. There is now even a competition as part of the exhibit, where entrants' claws are judged by cleanliness, polish, and so on. The one important rule Cybercrime and the lads had to implement on its official third year is "No attacking or dining on anyone else", after the River Dean disaster that is still fresh on the minds of many. More memorable than that fiasco are some of the talons shown off in recent years, like Sexy T. the undine's vivid pinks and Unbolt's double curled right pinky. While Cybercrime's event is pretty much unknown outside the peninsula (and some people outright refuse to attend an event hosted by a nasty-looking dragon), enough still show up to view the talon show that she considers it a success year after year.
