Deep Sea Dragons, as their name suggests, spend most of their time in the darkest depths of the sea. They have a bioluminescent dorsal spine that serves to attract prey and communicate with their own kind. As with many deep sea animals, they generally eat whatever they can manage to bait. They rarely leave the ocean floor, surfacing only during breeding season. When they do choose to travel to the shallower depths, they avoid bright lights and will only come up far away from shore.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Nimmin was a rather reclusive dragon for the most of her hatchling years and would only group near others if there was a serious danger. She had a long and tough childhood and out of her many hundreds of siblings she was one of the three who lived long enough to gender. Even with the added size that puberty gave her, Nimmin still wasn't very strong and she was chased to the surface of the ocean by a hungry water dragon. The only way she could escape was to hide in the shallower waters closer to shore and though she disliked the unfamiliar waters, she lived. Near the shore she befriended a human, an adolescent male to whom she became very attached to. He fed her small fish that he caught and called her "Nim". They were the best of friends for many, many years. But soon Nimmin grew too large for the shallow safe waters and the boy grew old and died. Heartbroken, Nimmin retreated back into the dangerous dark depths of the ocean, never to be seen by human eyes again.
