Gemshard Dragons are small, gregarious, expressive easterns, living in large clans high in the jungle canopy. Their bodies are covered in tiny, gem-like scales that shimmer in direct light, and each dragon has a unique pattern of markings on the forked spade of its tail. Though Gemshard Easterns cannot fly, they often leap from springy branches high into the sky on sunny days and perform acrobatic spins and twirls to entertain themselves. When the weather turns foul, they pile up together on sturdy tree limbs and interlock the forks of their tails with others to keep warm and dry.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Rayquazit is more mature than Kyogrette and Groudion, and hates that they are constantly one-upping each other in attempts to get his attention. Oddly, neither has realized that the more they fight, the less likely he is to pick either one of them in a given season. He is a much better jumper than either one of them, flinging himself up above the canopy to get away from their petty squabbles and the babanaphilic neotropical dragons who also scamper around the jungle in ways he considers obnoxious. He wants his two favorite ladies to play nice, but whenever he tries to intervene he winds up getting clawed badly.

He spent a lot of time with silver dragons, and some suspect he learned the magic they use to fly—though everyone knows gemshards are almost entirely nonmagical, so it is unlikely. He does perform impressive jumps, however, and some claim he has a weyr higher than even skywings and nebulae fly. While any reasonable dragon knows such nonsense is ridiculous, the rumor persists.
