Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.

Geldan of the Sun is Silvei of the Moon's equal and counterpart. He grew up with him, and they became sworn brothers as the last of their respective clans to survive war. He is the opposite of Silvei, and a bright and friendly type. He loves spinning tales of valor and bravery and telling them to the young hatchlings that arrive in his mother figure's cave. Like his brother, he is said to guard a treasure as bright as the sun. The mysterious artifact is said to be the remnant of the vast stores his clan once hid before war left him alone. However, no one knows if this is true or simply a tale spun by Geldan. Even if his personality is like the sun, he is as mysterious as the sky itself.
