Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Tinker lived her life quite content in the woods around the human village of Westchester often observing the humans and their strange behaviour. When one day she observed a group of the villagers coming together to burn a young girl at the stake, she first thought it some kind of game with all the shouting and waving of fists and she flew in to join in the fun. In the resulting commotion the girl Katja escaped the mob and fled to the woods.

When the drake found her there, she felt the girl's distress but was unable to communicate with the human. Nevertheless  Lockheed -as the human called her- decided to stay with Katja and protect her as well as she could.

Recently she managed to lead the young woman to a strong, male witch who might protect her. The fact that he travels with an attractive ochredrake has almost nothing to do with her decision.
