Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

From a very young age, Hannahra was plagued by occasional strange, vivid dreams, which grew stronger as she grew older.  When one particularly intense dream caused her to sleepwalk, she found herself curled in an alcove in one of Dragonhaven Island's many odd little corners, and after that the dreams began to resemble memories of another life.  Hannahra searched for years to find someone who could help her make sense of her dreams, and finally got her answer from Thornpaw and Kyti Fallingleaf.  She is in fact the Unicorn Mage reborn, though why and for what purpose is still unclear.  Fate would seem to have something grand in store for Hannahra, but she still has no idea what this might be or what she'd supposed to be doing.  Being a fairly easygoing dragon, though, she's content to merely wander with her new friends and wait for destiny to find her.
