Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Fairy-Thunder was driven from the Houxfleur Clan at as soon as she hatched because she had pale slates on her belly rather than dark ones. As she taught herself how to hunt she grew spiteful of her kind, believing that all were as vicious as her own kin. She hid and avoided others until she chanced upon a vine who—like herself—was banished for the superficial curse of his color. Cereborne was desperate for someone and Fairy needed help. They spent the end of their youths together and once they were grown became mates. They found a territory to call their own in the southeastern corner of the Sunbeam Woods, where the forested cliffs fall away into the Southern Ocean.

Though Fairy is no hunter, there are a lot of monsters in her home that think they can threaten even a dragon. She defends her mate from whatever tries to bite back. When things are calm, they like to play knucklebones and checkers together. Cere has a spot where itchy dirt always gets stuck, so Fairy helps clean it out.
