Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Born on the high mountaintops Hunter was drawn from his home towards the oceans surrounding Galsreim when he fell in love with Pegta. Being a behemoth of the depth there was no hope she would ever join him in the skies despite the fact that she loved him back. Hunter has found the waters of the northern coast almost cold enough to his liking and they are deep enough to provide Pegta with hunting grounds of her own. Still Hunter has to sleep on one of several barren rock islands each night because if he doesn't constantly use his magic to rein in his coldness, he quickly develops a crust of frozen water—a hull that would eventually suffocate him in his sleep.
