Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tinestra is cynical, blunt, and aggressive. Some have wrongly described her as discriminatory when, in reality, she simply loathes everyone. She detached herself from the human that raised her at a young age, refusing to be anyone's "pet". She finds the idea of dragons loving humans for stealing their eggs from their rightful parents' caves ridiculous. She shows back up from time to time, mostly to complain and aggravate the other dragons.

Naturally, it took her a long time to find a mate. Whoever said "beggars can't be choosers" never met Tinestra. She has always been very picky, expecting nothing less than perfection from her mate. She finally found this in the Silver dragon Andarion. She adores traits in him that she despises in most other dragons, including beauty. She especially loves the way his scales flicker in the lightning.

Still, they argue often so their offspring are few, and Tinestra has chased them all off.
