Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As an egg, gheee's parents took her to a mystic, asking for her fortune. The only fortune they received was something that hardly made sense: clarified butter. They asked other fortune-tellers to try and get a better fortune, but all they saw was ghee. Unfortunately for them this fate turned out accurate, gheee took an instant liking to the substance. She was abandoned for her eccentricities.

On her own, ghee developed a habit of sneaking into peasants' houses and clarifying all the butter she could find. This was more unnerving than problematic since she didn't steal, and eventually she was caught at it. The villagers taught her about human-style living and set her up in a shack just outside the village and taught her to run a creamery; she specialized in clarifying butter for the local population. Eventually she met a nebula, o8EAT, who loves who cook with ghee. The two have started a little tavern, the food of which has made their village a well-known stop for travelers.
