Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Getsumen kureta has made quite the impact on the population of Moonstone dragons. She came up with a way to use glass to focus a larger amount of the moon's light onto her stone at once. This means that she can spend half of the time gathering energy before she can play and romp around like a normal hatchling. Some of the adult Moonstones were so impressed with the results that they have begun doing the same thing as this smart little hatchling.

Her name means Moon Crater.
