Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Glory of Daybreak is a tribe dragon, and therefore his nickname is Glory. He is the leader of what he calls "the most agile tribe in the world". His tribe consists of other drakes, Swallowtails, and other agile breeds. Glory is a caveborn dragon, therefore his parents are unknown. He is Glimmer of Ending Night's brother, and he has always given his sister a special spot in the tribe. His mate is Laugh of Playful Dragon, an Ochredrake with an impeccable sense of humor.

Glory usually spends his time flying through the skies, catching up on news with other tribe leaders, or asking Flight of Graceful Dives for wisdom. He has always been an easy dragon to get along with, the result of many other agile loner dragons joining his tribe. He used to be a loner dragon himself, which helped him to relate his experiences with other loners, making it sound like Glory understands them. The only dragon he really hates is Vampire that Seeks Revenge, a tribe vampire who once killed one of his tribe's eggs.
